Major Airports in Arkansas

Arkansas has many different options for air travel. The state has only one major airport, but several smaller, regional ones. Depending on your starting point and ultimate destination, regional airports in the state can be an efficient alternative to driving long distances to reach the major airport. Your choice of airline is greatest at the National Airport, and it decreases with the size of the airport.

Little Rock National Airport

Little Rock National Airport (LIT) is the largest in the state, with over 120 flights daily. It serves 16 international gateways, and two million passengers travel through the airport each year. Six major airlines (American Eagle, Continental Express, Delta, Southwest, United and U.S. Airways Express) use the airport, which is located off of Interstate 440 in Little Rock.

Most flights from this location serve the Midwest -- Allegiant Air the only airline that travels as far west as Los Angeles in 2010. This airport is located in the northwest corner of the state and is accessible by Highways 12 and 71.
