Airports Near Panama City, Florida

While the closest major airport may be more than 150 miles away, the Panama City area is not without access to air travel. The area has recently opened a small, three-terminal international airport and also has other local airports. Panama City is centrally located to many white sandy beaches and waterways, including easy access to the Gulf of Mexico. The area affords many opportunities for activities and things to do, including shopping, dining, entertainment and water sports on the emerald-green waters of the Gulf.

The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, built in May 2010, is the closest airport to the Panama City area offering commercial airline service. The airport's three terminals service both Delta and Southwest airlines. Flights are available from this airport to most major U.S. cities, including hubs for international travel.

Crystal Village is a privately owned, one-runway airport that is located approximately 25 miles outside of Panama City. The airport is primarily for private use only, but does allow others to land with prior permission.

Sandy Creek Airpark

Located in a private community with its very own runway, Sandy Creek Airpark is complete with residential and commercial lots. The airpark is privately owned and operated and is only accessible to residents and their approved guests. A total of 94 residential lots, totaling 3/4 of an acre each, and three commercial sites are available. The airpark is located 15 miles east of Panama City and offers easy access to a public boat ramp a few miles away.
